Archaeological test trenching was carried out at 25 and to the rear of 27 – 31 Church Road, Kells, Co Antrim having been commissioned in relation to a proposed housing development. The desk-based study identified the proposed development as being in an area of archaeological potential with three Scheduled archaeological monuments (ANT038:026; ANT038:030; ANT038:031) within 600m of the site.
A total of 10 machine-cut test trenches were excavated under archaeological supervision across the site. No archaeological material was identified during the test trenching works.
