Archaeological testing took place at Cronroe & Milltown North townlands Co. Wicklow in ideal weather conditions at the end of March 2021. It was undertaken with regard to the construction of c.29ha solar PV Energy development. Testing comprised of the excavation of seventy 1.8m wide linear test trenches (T1-T70) with a total length of c.1480m on the footprint of the proposed groundworks within the proposed solar farm. The remains of a number of relatively recent land drains were noted during testing but nothing of archaeological interest and no artefacts were recorded in any of the test trenches.
