An archaeological test excavation was carried out in Ballyseskin, Kilmore as part of an archaeological impact assessment to be submitted with a planning application for the proposed construction of a single dwelling house. Five test trenches were excavated to the surface of the natural subsoil and no features or finds of archaeological significance were exposed. There will be no direct impact on the levelled ringfort (WX047-042) located 60m to the north of the proposed house site and no potential associated archaeological features were exposed during the testing programme.
