Archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the installation of two underground cable ducts was undertaken while these works extended through the Zone of Notification (ZON) surrounding St Mary Magdalene’s Church (WX037-042001- ) and Graveyard (WX037-042002-) site in Maudlintown, County Wexford. The monitoring programme was undertaken between 18 and 26 January 2021 and was conducted under Excavation Licence 21E0023 and Detection Device Licence 21R0006.
Monitoring revealed that the majority of the alignment of the cable ducting extended through previously disturbed ground (i.e. the route of other modern services). No artefacts, features or deposits of an archaeological nature were revealed during the monitoring programme.
