Archaeological testing at Ballyboy East, Co. Tipperary took place in March 2021. The zone of notification of castle TS087-024001 and bawn TS087-024002 partially extends within the western limits of the proposed development site. Six linear test trenches (T1–T6) were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development. All trenches were incrementally opened with a 5-ton back acting track machine using a 1.6m wide flat grading bucket. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted and no artefacts were recovered during archaeological testing.
