Archaeological testing at Ballyboy East, Co. Tipperary took place in March 2021. The zone of notification of castle TS087-024001 and bawn TS087-024002 partially extends within the western limits of the proposed development site. Six linear test trenches (T1-T6) were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development. All trenches were incrementally opened with a 5-ton back acting track machine using a 1.6m wide flat grading bucket. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted and no artefacts were recovered during archaeological testing.
