A programme of archaeological testing was implemented within the boundaries of a proposed development to identify and assess any previously unrecorded sub-surface archaeological remains. The site is located adjacent to a rath (SL044-032----).
A total of four test trenches comprising 220 linear meters were machine excavated and examined. A portion of a curved ditch, interpreted as the western extent of rath SL044-032----, was identified in Trench 4.
