Given the proximity of the proposed upgrade of the football pitches to the burial ground/graveyard on the grounds of St Louis School, Kiltimagh, licensed pre-development testing was required. Topsoil was consistent throughout the field, mostly to a depth of 0.2m. It was clear post-testing that this ground had been levelled with a bulldozer to make the football pitch. The natural subsoil was a very compacted orange/brown roughly sorted soil. Field drains were noted running north-south along the length of the pitch.
