A building survey and test excavation were carried out for lands at Newtownstalaban, Drogheda, Co. Louth in advance of a proposed development. This green field site is located c. 2km east of Drogheda town centre on a 5.8-hectare site beside the Newfoundwell Road. Twenty-five trenches (2079 linear meters) were excavated across the site. No archaeological sites, features or objects were recorded.
