Archaeological monitoring of the construction of a solar farm (SF) in Hortland and Knockanally townlands, Co. Kildare was undertaken in two phases in May/June 2021. All areas of topsoil stripping, cable trenching, including construction of access tracks, compound areas, substation, inverter substations etc. were archaeologically monitored. Topsoil stripping was undertaken with a back-acting track machine using a flat-edged grading bucket. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted during monitoring.
