The Ballyvouskill – Knockanure 220kV Line Uprate Project involved the uprate of a section of the pre-existing Clashavoon – Tarbert 220 kV overhead line (OHL). The section of OHL runs a linear distance of approximately 65.6km between Ballyvouskill Substation in Co. Cork and Knockanure Substation in County Kerry.

There are 189 existing structures in total located along this section of the line, 167 of which are intermediate structures and 22 of which are angle structures. A program of archaeological monitoring was carried out in relation to works on structures located between Ballynahulla and Breahig townlands in Co. Kerry.

No archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered during the course of monitoring these works.
