Five test-trenches were excavated over the footprint of a proposed housing development in the townland of Gortonora, outside the town of Dingle, Co. Kerry. Three of the trenches contained features relating to early modern agricultural activity. No archaeological features or deposits were uncovered. A sizeable assemblage of pottery was recovered from the lower A-horizon topsoil in all trenches. All of this material is nineteenth to mid-twentieth century in date.
