Archaeological testing was undertaken in April 2021 with regard to a planning application to construct a glamping site at Killurly East, Caherciveen, Co. Kerry. Fourteen test trenches were planned across the proposed development site, however due to difficult access and partially flooded areas, only twelve trenches, T1-T12, were excavated. All trenches were incrementally opened with a 13-ton back acting track machine using a 1.6m-wide flat grading bucket. Nothing of an archaeological nature was found in any of the test trenches.
