Additional archaeological testing under an extension to the original licence was undertaken in February 2021. The proposed development site is situated at the grounds of St Finan’s Hospital complex, Ballydribbeen, Killarney, Co. Kerry. Nine archaeological test trenches (Trenches T1-T9) had been excavated in spring 2019. The testing was followed in the same year by the excavation of archaeological features recorded during the testing and revealed a small, enigmatic, Early Neolithic site essentially comprising of four pits and four post-holes (Dunne 2019). Five additional test trenches (T10-T14) were opened in 2021 radiating from the area excavated in 2019. No archaeological features or deposits were noted during this additional testing and no finds were recovered.
