A program of licensed archaeological monitoring was undertaken on 3-4 August 2021 at three locations in Eyre Square, Galway. The works involved the installation of three kiosks with pits averaging 2.5m in length by 1.1m in width by 330mm depth within the precincts of the historic town, SMR GA094-100. The works were carried out using a 1.6 tonne digger. In all instances the works impacted on infilled ground of modern sand and gravel. No natural or archaeological levels were disturbed or finds retrieved.
