Archaeologiocal monitoring was undertaken in November 2021 at the site of a dwelling house in Prospecthill townland, Oranmore, County Galway. The site had previously been subjected to archaeological testing under license 20E0687 and while nothing of archaeological significance was identified the proximity of the site to the Portal tomb GA094-012 required archaeological monitoring during construction. The stratigraphy throughout the site consisted of sod and topsoil 0.2-0.45m in depth over an orange sandy subsoil, 0.1m deep, over a grey sandy gravel. No features and/or finds of archaeological significance were encountered in the course of monitoring.
