Four test trenches were excavated in the vicinity of a 19th-century canal warehouse on Harbour Lane, Ballinasloe. Modern fill, rubble and rubbish were present more than 1m below ground level in some areas. Testing was restricted by the presence of disused underground fuel-storage tanks. No finds or features of archaeological interest were recorded.
