A programme of archaeological test trenching was carried out at at the site of the proposed Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire, Dominick Street, Dublin 1; the site comprises part of the now-demolished Dominick Street Lower flat complex.

Test trenching identified sub-surface masonry remains associated with a terrace of Georgian buildings, rear gardens and mews building (Nos 16–19) that were erected at the development site by the late 18th century. These buildings are depicted on the 6-inch series Ordnance Survey mapping dating to 1847. The investigations also identified the remnants of basement cellars to the rear of the terrace and in front of the mews building in addition to the reinforced concrete foundations and utility services (sewerage, power, telecom and gas) associated with the former Dominick Street flats complex.
