Archaeological monitoring was carried out over three months from 8 May to 23 July 2021 of all ground reduction works at the site of a proposed development located at No. 20 Dawson Street, Dublin.
The work scope consisted of monitoring the demolition of the modern buildings to the rear of 20 Dawson St and monitoring the works associated with the proposed build. This included the removal of concrete foundations (to a maximum depth of 0.5m), associated with the former structure. Removal of the former foundations revealed a compact brownish-grey mortar and rubble stone. No archaeological deposits or features were revealed during the course of monitoring.
