The proposal involved development works within the boundaries of the Church of the Ascension, 25 Glebe Road, Annahilt. The church is a Grade B1 listed building and is recorded on the Historic Buildings Register as HB19/06/005. The works involved the construction of a new toilet block and sewage outlet to the rear, north of the church. The general area is also the location of the possible ecclesiastical enclosure DOW022:002.

The works have received listed building consent and HED (Historic Monuments) were content with the proposal provided the works were the subject of an agreed programme of archaeological works.

The footprint of the toilet block and associated sludge tank was the subject of archaeologically monitored topsoil stripping. This took place on 29th September 2021 under license. Made ground to a maximum depth of 1.2m was noted overlying undisturbed glacial till. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted.
