A programme of archaeological testing carried out at Tullaghacullion, Killybegs, Co. Donegal on behalf of Priority Construction Ltd. The proposed works entail the development of a borrow pit for the extraction of soil from the application site for export to the nearby Donegal County Council Balbane Landfill Site Restoration project at Tullaghacullion, in an area enclosing c. 3.2745 hectares.
Testing took place on 9/10 June 2021 on foot of a request from the Development Applications Unit for a Archaeological Impact Assessment to include for pre-development test trenching. A total of 10 linear test trenches were excavated at 20m intervals across the site. No features of an archaeological nature were noted during testing.
