A programme of pre-development archaeological testing was conducted on the footprint and hardstand location of a selection of proposed turbines for a Wind Farm development in the townland of Aught. As predicted by previous geological surveys, many areas across the scheme were not suitable for archaeological testing since the potential depth of the peat was beyond the limits of health and safety standards.
No features or deposits of archaeological consequence were observed within the trenches during this programme.
