One hundred and eighty-five test trenches and an area of full topsoil strip were excavated between 4 January 2021 and 9 February 2021.

The upstanding remains of three stone buildings were present on site; these are depicted on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map. These structures were dry stone built and would have been the remains of a small farm with a five-room building and two external storage buildings. The structures were recorded and a large area around them was topsoil stripped under archaeological supervision; no further remains of structures or yards was uncovered.

Several post-medieval artefacts were recovered from within the area surrounding the buildings, comprising 9 glass bottles, 14 sherds of ceramics, 2 leather shoes, a large metal cauldron and a horseshoe.
