A programme of archaeological testing was conducted on the site of a proposed substation and associated overhead powerline infrastructure development at Brockaghboy, Garvagh, County Derry.

The substation area revealed very frequent agricultural activity. Modern furrows and drainage systems were identified within most of the trenches, in a symmetrical and equidistant pattern. The trenches on the footprint of associated towers and poles showed generally sterile natural subsoil and occasionally land drains. No features, or deposits of archaeological nature were identified within the trenches.
