Sample excavation was undertaken in August 2021 at a coastal promontory fort at Donaghmore, Lislevane, near Timoleague, Co. Cork. The monument is significantly damaged by coastal erosion, which will eventually result in its destruction. The stratification of the interior was recorded, providing information on construction, occupation and abandonment. Evidence of fires was recovered, as well as a stone setting that was possibly part of a built structure. There are no finds, but samples were recovered for radiocarbon dating, the results of which are pending.
