Archaeological testing was carried out in advance of development. A single trench was excavated centrally along the site. Two random rubble walls were found, one at the north end of the trench appears to be on the line of the property boundary between 27/28 North Main Street. The second was in the eastern section and appears to be the remains of the property boundary between 20/21 Kyle Street. At the lowest level of the trench dark grey brown silty clay with oyster shell and animal bone was evident. No ceramics were found.
