An expanding farmyard has been encroaching on the ecclesiastical enclosure at Killamurren since before 1841 so that over 90% of the original enclosure is now occupied by farm buildings, leaving only a 30m long arc of the original enclosing bank surviving. A further planned farmyard expansion to the east of the enclosure necessitated archaeological monitoring of ground works. Topsoil was removed over an area 45m x 20m and foundations for a proposed new building were dug. No archaeology was found.
