Archaeological testing was carried out at this site to establish the precise location and outer limit of a levelled enclosure, prior to the submission of a planning application for a proposed dwelling house. The enclosure was known only from aerial photography and was not visible on the ground. Three trenches (T1–T3) were excavated across the expected location of the enclosure and three (T4–T6) in the location of the proposed dwelling house. The enclosure ditch, ranging from 1–1.6m wide, was located in trenches T1–T3 and was not further investigated. The enclosure was estimated to be D-shaped in plan, measuring 25m north-south x 21m internally, with a 1.5m-wide, south-facing entrance. No archaeology was found in trenches T4–T6.
