Archaeological monitoring of ground works to facilitate the construction of a new section of overhead medium voltage power line within the Zone of Notification for the historic town of Old Ross (WX030-052—-) was undertaken on 22 January 2020. These works entailed the excavation of two post-holes, to accommodate two ESB poles, and a further pit, to accommodate a stay wire. No features, finds or deposits of archaeological interest were uncovered.
