Monitoring, including the use of a metal detector, was carried out during repair works at Clonbeg Bridge, Glen of Aherlow, Co. Tipperary, adjacent to a medieval church. The work consisting of the replacement of the bridge, reprofiling the river bank and cleaning the river bed from obstruction (dead trees and branches).
No archaeological material was revealed during monitoring and the only metal items identified during the metal detector survey were clearly modern.
