Monitoring of refurbishment works within the former 19th-century Church of Ireland (COI) church of St Nicholas off Main Street, Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary was carried out on an intermittent basis between August 2019 and September 2020. The Heritage Centre occupies the site of the medieval church of St Nicholas of Myra (TS085-004006-). The refurbishment project involved significant internal and external renovations including plastering, new flooring, windows, lighting, and rewiring. The built fabric encountered throughout these works showed the masonry structure to be composed of random rubble sandstone and limestone and entirely consistent with an early to mid-19th-century structure. Nothing of archaeological significance was encountered during refurbishment works.
