The development was located in Cloonkeelaun and Tawnamore townlands, County Sligo, approximately 11km south-east of Enniscrone and 14km north east of Ballina.

Twenty-eight single wooden poles were required for construction of an overhead power line, with excavation for each pole measuring on average 3m long x 1m wide x 2.5m deep. The wooden poles were generally spaced 100m to 150m apart. Construction of a below-ground cable involved excavation of two separate trenches. The first trench measured 240m in length, while the second measured 100m in length. Excavation for the combined 340m of underground cabling measured on average 1.2m deep x 0.4m wide.

On all occasions monitoring revealed a thin layer of topsoil sealing peat, which in turn was shown to seal undisturbed natural geology. No archaeological features or artefacts were revealed as a result of carrying out the monitoring.
