A programme of archaeological monitoring was undertaken as a condition of planning for the Arigna Rural Water Supply Scheme. A full archaeological presence was maintained during the removal of topsoil at the water treatment plant site in Ballyfarnon, the reservoir site on Kilronan Mountain, the pumping station site in Rockhill and during open trenching along the public road network to Arigna. No archaeological finds or strata were identified in any of the areas subjected to ground disturbance.
