Phase 2 monitoring took place on 10 August 2020. The entire footprint of the proposed house site was stripped under archaeological supervision. Topsoil varied between 0.5m and 0.3m in depth, being deepest toward the east. Natural subsoil consisted of a compacted light yellow-brown stony loam clay which gradually blended into a light yellow-grey loam clay toward the south end of the site. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted. An additional test trench was excavated across the footprint of the percolation area, which augmented two of the test trenches excavated in Phase 1. Topsoil here was some 0.3m in depth and overlay a compacted light yellow-grey loam clay.
Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
