Twelve trenches were excavated in a site on the outskirts of Kilcock in advance of a planning application. Large parts of the eastern margins had been subject to earlier construction traffic or spoil storage while several overhead powerlines traversed the site. No material or features of archaeological significance were revealed except for a small portion of a cobbled surface underlying the front garden of a vacant house. The cobbled surface is likely to be of early nineteenth-century date and associated with buildings shown on the 1st edition OS maps marked lining the road to Kilcock here.
