A test excavation was carried out at the site of a proposed farmyard development in Muff, Nobber as part of an archaeological impact assessment required by request for further information arising from a planning application. The development site lies 85m from a ringfort (ME005-067).
A total of six test trenches were excavated, one of which was placed in the southern half of the field to incorporate an irregular polygonal feature identified from the geophysical survey. No features or finds of archaeological significance were exposed in any of the investigated areas.
