Monitoring was undertaken over three days by Dermot Nelis and Stuart Elder.
Development involved construction of a wind monitoring mast and six anchor pits. The anchor pits were excavated in three lines of two; a northern line (inner and outer anchor pits), a southern line (inner and outer anchor pits) and a western line (inner and outer anchor pits). The inner pits were approximately 25m from the meteorological mast base plate, while the outer pits were approximately 50m from the base plate. Each anchor pit measured 2m long x 1m wide.
Excavation of the anchor pits failed to reveal any archaeological features or artefacts. On all occasions peat was shown to seal geologically deposited strata.
