The development consisted of the construction of a new inspection pit and a pipeline of c. 17m in length that connected to the existing sewer. A new water mains connection was also laid within the trench, although this had a length of c. 15m. The trench was intended to measure 1m wide and have a maximum depth of 1.2m and was designed to be located along the existing concrete footpath on the southern side of Kilkenny Street.
Archaeological monitoring of groundworks was carried out over 3 days commencing 17th September 2020 and ending 21st September 2020. The monitoring of ground works revealed nothing of archaeological significance.
