Archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping associated with the provision of a staff accommodation building in the grounds of Lyrath Estate Hotel, Carlow Road, Kilkenny under planning ref. 18/629, was carried out on 25 February 2020.
Topsoil stripping was carried out across a narrow, landscaped, level grassed site, which tapered from the south-west to north-east, over an area measuring 32m long x 9m wide to the south-west end by 4m wide to the north-east end.
No features, deposits or finds of archaeological significance were exposed.
