Archaeological testing was undertaken here in March 2020. A series of fifteen test trenches (T1-T15) were excavated across the limits of the proposed development site. The test trenches were opened by a back-acting mechanical excavator using a flat grading bucket. Stratigraphy in all trenches consisted of peat layer (average depth 1m) overlaying grey clay. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted in any of the test trenches.
