Monitoring took place of Tier 2 and 3 environmental assessments of a historic landfill site in a disused quarry immediately north of the ecclesiastical complex in Ardfert, Co. Kerry. The assessment required the opening of two boreholes and the uses of ground probes and gas monitoring probes to assess the levels of gas and leachate and potential risk to groundwater. The ground disturbance aspect of the works was minimal and no archaeological features or strata were encountered during the assessments.
