All ground reduction works on the scheme were subject to a programme of archaeological monitoring. No archaeological features or deposits were encountered during the works.
The drystone wall (to the rear of Nos 1–2 Beech Hill Road) investigated as part of the monitoring works in 2019 (2019:517) was found to represent a mid-19th- century repair to a collapsed section of the river wall along this section of the river bank. The wall was fully recorded prior to its removal.
