All ground reduction works on the scheme were subject to a programme of archaeological monitoring. No archaeological features or deposits were encountered during the works.
The drystone wall (to the rear of Nos 1 - 2 Beech Hill Road) investigated as part of the monitoring works in 2019 (2019:517) was found to represent a mid-19th- century repair to a collapsed section of the river wall along this section of the river bank. The wall was fully recorded prior to its removal.
