The groundworks carried out for the scheme were monitored between 16 October 2019 and 16 June 2020. Several trial pits, pipeline pits and trenches were dug along the route of the scheme. A metal object, possibly a nail, and a gate post belonging to the Howth tramline were found.

However, nothing of archaeological significance was encountered. No further mitigation is deemed necessary.
