A programme of archaeological monitoring was undertaken in a greenfield site in West Dublin at Grange Castle West Access Road and Business Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 during the construction of new road alignment and development.
The entire excavation consisted of topsoil overlaying subsoil. Topsoil was a friable mid-greyish black loam. Subsoil was of mottled grey-yellow to yellow-grey clay. Occasionally a relict soil layer of similar physical characteristics to subsoil was observed, however this was more silty but also sterile.
Nothing of archaeological significance was identified during the course of works associated with the development.
