Archaeological monitoring took place of site investigation works associated with a proposed development at Huntstown and Johnstown, Co. Dublin. This followed on from an archaeological assessment (Waters, 2019) and geophysical survey (Leigh 2019; Licence Ref.: 19R0159) in which a large ditch enclosure was identified, and a programme of archaeological trial trenching (Bayley 2019; Licence Ref. 19E0635).
Monitoring revealed a generally consistent stratigraphic sequence of soil horizons with little variation across the site.
Nothing of archaeological significance was identified, however the monitoring confirmed that the site has remained relatively undisturbed.
