Archaeological monitoring was undertaken for 400m of a transmission cable trench in Belcamp, Dublin 17. No soils, features or finds of archaeological significance were uncovered or impacted upon during the works. The investigation demonstrated that the lands to the south of the River Mayne were substantially disturbed, as the area was used as an illegal dump over an extended period. In addition to this, the natural boulder clay was scarped, which presumably removed any evidence for archaeological remains in this area.
