The works at Moira Demesne required the archaeologically monitored excavation of a continuous trench c.250m long, 0.4m wide and 1m deep. The narrow trench facilitated an electrical cable, Lucy pillar and lamp post. Three post-medieval archaeological features were identified during the excavation of the electrical cable trench.
Area 1 within the southern portion of the new cable contained C3, a linear feature measuring 1.3m wide and 0.6m deep which contained two fills. Pottery and glass found within the feature both date to the 19th century.
Area 2 within the northern portion of the new cable trench contained two post-medieval archaeological features. Pit feature C6 contained one fill. A linear feature, C8, located 1m north of C6 measures 1.2m wide and 0.45m deep and containing one fill. No artefacts were recovered from these features.
