A programme of archaeological testing was conducted on the site of a proposed dwelling at Carrowmore, Gleneely, County Donegal on 10 June 2020. A total of three trenches were proposed for this site. An existing stone track leads up to a natural rock platform where the dwelling location was proposed. Overall, the topsoil consisted of mid-brown silt transitioning to peat towards the north-eastern corner of the proposed development. Similarly, the subsoil transitioned north-eastwards from orange sandy clay to mottled grey and brown clay.
No archaeological features or artefacts were identified within the trenches during this investigation.
