A programme of archaeological testing was conducted on the site of a proposed single dwelling at Drumaville, Leckemy, County Donegal on 18 May 2020. A total of five trenches were proposed for this site. Overall, the topsoil consisted of mid-brown clayey silt, containing occasional modern refuse. The natural subsoil varied slightly from reddish-orange sandy clay (western portion of the field) to light orange sandy clay (eastern portion of the field). Occasional patches of bedrock, gravel and rocks were encountered across the excavation. Agricultural activity (furrows) was observed within some of the trenches.
No archaeological features or artefacts were identified within the trenches during this investigation.
