During archaeological monitoring on the site in December 2019 a small irregular deposit of dark brown-black peaty clay with heat-shattered stone was found 60m east of a burnt mound found during testing in 2015. It was excavated several weeks later and measured 2m east-west by 1.8m and was 0.25m deep. It was sitting in what appeared to be a natural depression adjacent to a former stream channel. The spread may have been re-deposited in the depression possibly by alluvial activity and subsequently sealed by peat development.
